Delta Tau Chapter was founded on February 6, 1954 at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. The chapter has been in continuous existence since its founding. The members of the chapter are active in music in its various forms at the College. There is a rush process that is open to all interested active musicians at the College.
Every semester, our chapter contributes funds toward scholarships for applied music students to be awarded by members of the applied music faculty on the basis of talent and financial need. Our chapter is also a founding parent organization of Sinfonicron, the student-run Light Opera Company, which has put on a production every January since 1965. We are working on a variety of projects and musicales designed to support and aid our Music Department.
In addition, we have a standing offer to critique musical acts working toward a competition at a performance during one of our Sunday night meetings. (Please contact our Musicale Director, Emily Harmon, if you would like a critique.) Our members are also available to usher musical performances, such as concerts or recitals, throughout the year. (Please contact our President, Lucy King, if you would like ushers.)
